I'm so surprised this place only has average ratings. Maybe folks are spoiled living in New York with lots of Jewish deli options, but for someone who doesn't live here anymore and hadn't been to a Jewish deli in years, I found this place to be absolutely delightful.
In a brightly lit diner, you are presented with a plate of pickles and a plate of incredibly good cole slaw. We were also later offered a bread basket.
The food was legit. The matzo ball soup satisfyingly a level I couldn't have imagined. I could have skipped the borscht I guess, and the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches were very simple: a stack of meat on bread and nothing else. But what else do you need? Oh and the knishes were so good! They sell the mustard that goes with them if you want a souvenir.
I would absolutely come back next time I'm in town! -

Solid eatery, especially for a kosher establishment. The grilled chicken honey mustard wrap was decent, with a good balance between the fillings. The honey mustard inside the wrap was quite good, as were the sweet potato fries I ordered with it! The portion size was fair for the price.
The service is, well, more than lacking. Slow, occasionally rude, and just not the most attentive.
I would come back again, but I think I'd have to stick to the more "kosher" items, like the soup and pastrami. -

This was my first time here, I had a fabulous time. The first thing I did when I got here was ofcourse check in and to my surprise I got a free soda! So when our waiter came up to us he went to check off my coupon and came back saying they actually do that at the other location, but he'll give it to me this time anyway (after checking in with the manager ofcourse), so that was really nice of them. We ordered a combo that included soup & sandwich for 2 people ( so much food!). It was delicious! We had so many free pickles, coleslaw, and bagel chips, we were full before our meals even came! I had my matzo ball soup & we split a pastrami and corned beef sandwich ( both delicious). I can definitely see myself going here again! Also, I normally am not a fan of sandwiches because I don't really care for bread, but I ate it anyway because I was so hungry and not the least bit disappointed.

Fifty years ago, there were literally hundreds of kosher delis in Yonkers (and in each of the NYC boroughs as well). Nowadays, they're an endangered species in all of those places, even Manhattan; but Epstein's carries the flag well. Walking in really is like stepping back in time (just in case that cliche hasn't been beaten to death yet); everything is pretty much unchanged from the fifties and sixties. Prices are quite reasonable compared to many of the other surviving kosher delis; portions might not be quite as generous, but still more than enough food. Eat! It'll make you feel better!

I have been coming here for lunch on a monthly basis for many many years. You could always count on the food being consistently excellent. This is an old school Jewish deli not fancy and actually a little bit cheaper than bens down the road but it's my opinion the food is better. brisket is succulent and moist the pastrami is some of the best I've ever tasted they have lunch specials everyday it also a daily special honestly if you're looking for a good nosh this is the place to go
